Intro Post

Let’s be real, the average person is not concerned with the informational endeavors of scientific academia, the abstract realism of the art, and may only do research when it is assigned in class by a teacher or professor. Do you suffer from boring classroom lectures, watching the news with your parents, or uninteresting Internet articles? If you do, well there is now help for you. We have a new product called Haphazard which can help your daily needs of information. To be honest, we don’t even know what this blog is going to be, and that’s the fun of it.

Haphazard is here to help you get information on a wide variety of topics ranging from natural sciences to humanities, while putting a smile on your face. Every subject that comes our way to write about, we’ll find a way to wring out the most entertainment we can from it. Side effects may include: fun, knowledge, and a possible addiction to interesting topics. Haphazard is totally safe and will not in any way affect you negatively, unless you laugh too hard. And always remember, “The only reason people get lost in thought is because it’s unfamiliar territory.”

Megan Mukenge
Hey there everyone! My name is Megan and I’m from Durham North Carolina (also know as Bullcity). I am currently an undergraduate student at the lovely University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am a Biology major but I do also have strong interests in romance languages, Chemistry and Psychology. In my spare time I love to visit my family, hang out with friends and watch movies on Redbox or Netflix. My friends often refer to me as a “book geek” but hey I love it. There’s nothing better than learning something new about the world and hopefully that’s what you would be able to do on this blog. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to send me an email at me megan.mukenge@gmail.com.

Michael Melvin
My name is Michael Melvin. I am from a small South Carolina suburb where buildings didn’t reach above three stories and everyone waved at you as you drove by them. Being an out-of-state student has been a great experience, from meeting new friends to just living in the Tar Heel state, but I will always be a South Carolinian at heart. I’m an avid hunter, athlete, sports fan and outgoing conversationalist. My faith in Jesus Christ is one of the most defining aspects of my life, and I am always open to talk about it with whoever asks. My journey as a writer has traveled through many different channels, whether it was being the editor of my high school newspaper and even currently writing stories for the Tar Heel Monthly. My hope is that my group’s blog will be able to be teach its readers lessons while also adding humor and entertainment for a drawing appeal!

Mitchell Loflin

My name is Mitchell Loflin. I currently attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am from Lexington, North Carolina, which is a small town that boasts about its barbeque. I am undecided about my major; however, I am interested in Journalism as well as Dentistry. I am a music enthusiast, I enjoy sports, and I love to write. My hobbies include the saxophone, the guitar, as well as an occasional game of tennis. If you have any questions regarding something not mentioned, email me at mloflin7@gmail.com.

Brittani Jones
Hello, my name is Brittani Jones. I might have to update this in the succeeding years, but as for now, I am 18 years old. I am currently studying at the institution of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Tarheels), but upon coming to the university I previously resided in Virginia, and still do on long-awaited breaks! I am a ‘first-year,’ which is a unnecessary politically correct term for a freshman, at Carolina and a Afro-American Studies major on the Pre-Medicine track. That essentially means that I’m taking the necessary courses to apply to medical school in hopes of becoming a future dermatologist. However, when I get tired of the drudgery of reading, studying, and doing homework I like to spend time with friends, go partying, shop, dance, and anything that a normal teenager would do. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to address them to me at BrittaniJones.11@gmail.com.
